Flexibility analysis of different materials used in the manufacturing of PPR retainers
Abstract
The objective of this work was to assess the mechanical resistance of the thermoplastic esthetic material Dental D used in the manufacturing of removable partial prosthesis (RPP) retaining clamps, comparing it to two cobalt alloys (Vera Bond II and Wironit) widely used in the manufacturing of conventional RPPs metal structures. The results of the flexion tests demonstrated fower resistance of the esthetical material Dental D when compared to the other material tested. Among the alloys studied. Vera Bond II presented the highest resistance to flexion.
