Abstract

Effects of the application of different concentrations of wastewater from a starch factory for the formation of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus grandis) seedlings in tubules were evaluated. They were then compared with the commercial fertilizer Yogen5® using Plantimax® as a substrate. Experimental design consisted of completely randomized blocks forming one experiment with 10 treatments, with 8 doses in increasing concentrations of wastewater. Concentrations of wastewater from the starch factory were 12.5; 25.0; 38.0; 50.0; 63.0; 75.0; 88.0; and 100.0%, diluted in water throughout the vegetal cycle of eucalyptus seedling. A concentrated dose of a commercial fertilizer at the proportion of 0.2% and a control, with only water application were employed. The bio-fertilizing effect of wastewater in the production of eucalyptus seedlings was evaluated by phytotechnical parameters. Treatments with commercial fertilizer at 0.02%, control and waste water at 50 and 38% had the best rates with regard to the development of the plant’s height. However, wastewater concentrations from the starch factory at 25 and 12.5% were important for the production of root dry matter, besides Yogen5®.
