Agricultural Production Trends of Permanent Crops Within the Area Under the Supervision of the Regional Development Secretariat of Joaçaba SC Brazil

Abstract
Permanent crop trends in the area under the supervision of the Regional development Secretariat of Joaçaba SC Brazil are evaluated. Current analysis is a source for the evaluation and analysis of the special vocation of each municipality within the Joaçaba region. The region´s economy is based on agriculture and stock-raising with a trend for agro-industry. The municipalities in the region develop activities linked to seasonal and permanent crops. Soil exhaustion, loss of fertility and the physical relief of the mountainous and stony terrain make impossible seasonal crops. Permanent cultures are on the increase, coupled to conditions for their development in the region. Current analysis forwards the trends of permanent agricultural production within the region supervised by the secretariat of Joaçaba. The quantitative, exploratory and descriptive approach was endeavored by bibliographical and documental research since secondary data are the main data source. Production and productivity of permanent crops comprising oranges, apples, peaches, vine and yerba mate (green leaf) of each municipality were evaluated. Several municipalities have a vocation for the development of permanent crops and proper soils for this type of agriculture.
