Abstract

Seeking to preserve the institution of marriage and therefore the family, mother cell of society, the Brazilian legislature calendar followed a trend to bring reconciliation or at least the reconciliation of the spouses in crisis, in many stages of the process, even outside it. Mediation is a modern and effective remedy to stop the tension of a non-adversarial family, leading the spouses to reconcile themselves in their interests, aided by a third party facilitator with dialogue between them. Finally, it appears that all methods used to solve the conflict peacefully are so useful and valid in the Family Law.
