Abstract

Teachers´ quality is measured in the classroom mainly through organization, theoretical and practical development of the teaching method, avoidance of school quitting and repetition. In fact, the above factors are some of the main issues experienced by contemporary Brazilian education. Educational evaluations in the classroom are, in fact, the cause of these woes due to the aim in measuring precisely the students´ intellectual capacity. Current analysis endeavors to investigate public school teachers´ profile in classrooms with 7th and 8th grade students during lessons in the exact sciences (Mathematics), human sciences (English language) and social sciences (History) in Medianeira, a town in the western region of the state of Paraná, Brazil, and Curitiba, the capital of the state of Paraná. Questionnaire was efficient in results so that relevant discussions on the educational system could ensue. A weak education received during the graduation course provides teachers with scanty preparation to face 30 to 40-student classrooms with different social and religious backgrounds. Many teachers do not have any interest for their students and the manner they are going to receive knowledge.
