Abstract

Users of medicinal plants in São Carlos SP Brazil are analyzed through new sociological formulations on current social relationships. The construction of subjectivities at present is underlined by an uninterrupted and changeable movement where social interactions become dynamic. The theoretical presupposition developed in the first two items of current research is followed by the social organization of users of medicinal plants as sociability network in which the subjects form their subjectivity in a fluid manner. The network concept, inherent to contemporary sociological debate, contributes towards new forms of social organization at present. Bibliographical references followed by a concrete approach are used, the latter being foregrounded by open interviews and observations of the situation under analysis.
