Abstract
Owing to new organizational forms with changes in competition bases, modifications have also occurred within people´s profile and their relationships with organizations and their perceptions on the organization´s activities. This is especially true for compensation and promotion distribution criteria which affect the quality of the organizational milieu. Consequently, organizational justice becomes relevant within the context of Administration. Current research verifies whether the demographic characteristics of 139,230 workers from 481 firms under analysis interfere in the perception of distributive justice. A review of the literature was undertaken from the general concept of Justice, to the organizational field to Distributive Justice. Research may be characterized as quantitative and descriptive with survey as methodology. Sampling may be characterized at two instances: by convenience when dealing with firms and as probabilistic, stratified, proportional, according to gender, with random selection for answering workers. Data collection occurred in April and May 2010. A diversified set of tests and statistical techniques were employed, coupled to mean, median and standard deviation tests. Other position and basic application dispersion measurements were developed, such as Pearson´s correlation, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were also employed. Main results deal with the respondents´ characterization on gender, race, age, schooling, occupation and employment period, related to statements on the perception of Distributive Justice.
