Abstract

This paper analyses the impact on the income from land of the implantation of legal reservations in Paraná State. The analysis is based on the concept of income from land created by Adam smith and David Ricardo and employs the case of an agricultural property in Western Paraná State. The implantation of legal forest reservation leads to a decrease in the rural properties income, which may burden agricultural production; on the other hand, however, it is necessary to preserve the environment, otherwise future generations will be limited in relation to natural resources.
