THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN MANAGEMENT ABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEDIATED BY ENVIRONMENTAL UNCERTAINTIES: A STUDY ON AGROX

Abstract

Current research associates management abilities and performance and verifies mediation in environmental uncertainties through the perception of collaborators with strategic positions in a big agribusiness firm. Methodology was foregrounded on quantitative research by the survey method and a sample of 98 collaborators. Results show a positive relationship between management capacities and the firm´s performance. In fact, they are coherent to the theories that foreground the need of constant investments in management, with special regard to cost control, financial management, administration, control on sales and gains and planning and aims for the best organizational results. The above procedures meet the activities of the firm Agrox and the influence of environmental uncertainties on performance was identified. Although during the last years Agrox experienced financial growth, the process may be reverted or stopped if information and monitoring on the environment are not obtained.
