FACTORS THAT DETERMINE PURCHASE OPTIONS OF FEMALE CLIENTS IN ONLINE COMMERCE

Abstract

Lately, online purchases make up a great percentage in Brazilian commerce and reveal significant changes in consumers´ behavior, especially female clients. Current analysis investigates motivations of female clients to choose virtual commerce. Methodology consisted of an exploratory research with a qualitative approach and comprised interviews with twenty female consumers on their behavior in online purchases, foregrounded on concepts discussed by Strauss & Frost (2012); Clarke & Flaherty (2005), Kotler (2000), Loshin & Vacca (2004), Veloso (2007), Kalakota & Robison (2001), Bernard (2007) and others. Virtual commerce in Brazil is growing at great speed especially among female clients. The items with the highest consumption comprised decoration, electronics, clothes, accessories and toys. The interviewed people declared that they buy the products for their own use and insist that price and easiness are unanimously the factors for buying in virtual shops which have become the venue of a great number of purchases.
