Implantation of the children’s Pastoral in Maringá-pr: a historical report by its founders

Abstract

This paper presents a brief historical retrieval of the implantation of the Children’s Pastoral in Brazil and in the city of Maringá - Pr. It is the result of a research carried out with the pioneering agents of the implantation of the Children’s Pastoral in Maringá, its fundaments, conquests and contradictions. The methodology employed was the “Oral History” one, in which a subject of the history makes a report of their memories concerning the facts and happenings in which they were the actors. It was observed during the research that the orienting axle for the actions that gave origin and support to the implantation of the Children’s Pastoral among several segments of Maringá”s society, was based on the strong mystic used to awaken a solidarity and collectivity feeling among its members. It is also highlighted that the positive results, obtained with their targeted public, “malnourished children’ and their family members, have been the propellers of the credibility reached by the Children’s Pastoral since its implantation until present day.
