Abstract

Committed professionals show more interest, initiative and internal resources to cope with work requirements. Current analysis identifies and describes commitment to work of multidisciplinary professionals in a health department in a municipality in southern Brazil. Current descriptive and quantitative research is based on the data collection tool called Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Data show that professionals under analysis have high stimulation and dedication revealed by feelings of achievement and engagement with regard to work. The absorption dimension indicated the difficulty that these people have in concentrating merely on their tasks.
