INTERNAL AUDITING IN HUMAN RESOURCES: THE PROCESS OF CONTRACTING TRAINEES IN A GOVERNMENT-RUN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Auditing contributes towards several organizational processes and is a tool for verification and follow-up. It prevents and corrects mistakes and improves procedures in human resources. Current paper analyzes the process of contracting trainees in an institution of higher education and its compliances. A quantitative, descriptive and exploratory research was endeavored with primary and secondary data, coupled to a bibliographical survey. A check-list comprising a sample of thirty trainees selected randomly was undertaken. Results show that the institution complies with federal, state and municipal Brazilian law with certain divergences on the periodicity of reports and evaluation of training, compatibility of activities described in the Trainee Terms against that pedagogically projected, number of trainees higher than that permitted and adaptation of trainees with deficiencies.
