Abstract

Affection is the most determining theme in family relationships, especially between parents and children. The human being who always had the special protection of the mens legis cannot be subjected to abandonment by the holders of family authority. Attendance to obligations inherent to parents’ authority should not be restricted to a mere protective behavior and to material and intellectual assistance but especially in the duty to care and treat children with emotions and feelings. Children require a humanized attendance. Through such behavior, children’s personality is thus modeled towards the building of a society in which the principle of the dignity of the human person predominates.
