Absenteeism and life habits: factors that delay the diagnosis of testicular cancer
Abstract
Studies show higher mortality in men than in women when dealing with neoplasms, with testicular cancer (CT) being the most common solid tumor in men aged 18 to 39 years. This work addresses aspects related to the identification and diagnosis of TC that affect the male quality of life, associated with daily habits and absenteeism. The research was carried out in two moments: Phase [1], with a database survey and arrangement of the variables under study for analysis in a separate spreadsheet. Phase [2]: exploratory data collection and comparison with scientific literature. 140 participants were analyzed, covering a population between 18 and 69 years old with the following characteristics: medium-high schooling (36.42% had at least high school education), with access to private health services (68.5%), with routine consultation habits scheduled in their services (75%). Of this sample, the majority (76.4%) considered it necessary to be concerned about testicular cancer in their age group. After surveying and interpreting the data, it was concluded that there is a relevance of schooling and routine with access to health in the concern with the prevention of testicular cancer.References
