Prevalence of Behavioral Changes in Children And Teenagers Victims Of Family Violence in the Area of Maceió

Abstract
This study aimed to develop a study on the prevalence of behavioral changes in children and teenagers victims of family violence in the area of Maceió. It is believed the existence of a large number of victims from the disadvantaged classes and lower ones. There may be more cases of domestic violence in economically disadvantaged families or those where the husband has less than the wife’s educational level. The research used the field bibliographic material, documentary and diary notes, setting up a qualitative perspective. The field will be the empirical entities taken as "gateways" of violence cases for children and youth: the Support Center for Crime Victims - Criminal CAV and Reference Center for Social Assistance in (CREAS/AL) located in the area of Maceió. The partial data were obtained by collection in medical charts, records of incidents and reports provided by institutions between the years 2007 to 2008. These datas were recorded in segmented forms provided by individual interviews. The inventories used in the interviews were: Trauma Symptom Checklist - 40 (TSC-40) and Initial Trauma Review - Revised. The main changes found in the subjects interviewed were symptoms related to sexuality disturbances.
