Children's and adolescents' rights: a socio-historical perspective of the development of child and adolescent guarantees

During the twentieth century, several changes occurred – in Brazil and in the world – in the social and institutional spheres. Thus, issues that were previously ignored (such as the notions of childhood and adolescence) begin to gain importance. Inevitably, Psychology was na dolescent dolesc for the modifications of such conceptions, especially through its biopsychosocial theses, such as those of psychologist Abraham Maslow. Such theories have not dol changed the scientific perception of human beings and their development, but have also reflected on legal and juridical aspects over the last century. Thus, in the wake of these changes in mentality and perspective, in just over a century, Brazil went from a place of legal neglect to its children and dole people to the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) in the 1990s. However, even with dolescent progress, would Brazilian children and dole people be, in fact, protected and assisted? It was from this question that the dolesce research was elaborated. The dolesce study consists of a narrative review and aimed, from a historical perspective, to show how children’s and adolescents’ rights were consolidated in Brazil, dialoguing such changes with the Maslowian biopsychosocial perspective. Therefore, a doles was carried out in online databases to survey the theoretical material and, for the survey of current data – about the problem of child and dolescente abandonment in the country – journalistic reports and data made available by reliable sites, such as those of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Senate, were used in order to talk the scientific literature with contemporary empirical data.
