Statistics applied to tourism with emphasis on the agricultural and cattle raising fair "EXPONGÁ"

Abstract

Many transformations have occurred in the business scenery due to globalization and information techology developments. As a consequence, there has been a toughening in the competition between companies around the world. in face of this scenery, it is important that the administrator has an edge for his company so that it can be competitive in the market. Therefore, assessment is of vital importance for the company´s actions planning and decision taking. The company responsible for the organization of the Agriculture and Cattle Raising fair "EXPOINGÁ" makes use of assessment though data collection since 1998. Considering the grandeness of this event, the objective of this project has been to supply the insrtuments necessary for the improvement of this assessment in order to promote the collection system organization, the counting and analysis of the results, turning it possible the comparison of the fair´s performance in relation to previous years. This article presents a study carried out on the investigation object that has been used by the company in order to bring possible contributions by a more profound analysis, and so, present more relevant and definitive results for the company in question and provide conditions for the administrator to optimize the planning of his activities, which will certainly contribute to improve the fair´s quality level.
