Abstract

Strength is, without a doubt, one of the most important components in the sucsess of Judo´s techniques projections. the execution phase of the different techniques should be atributed to the inferior members in a logical order of support and movement of feet, legs, thighs and other segments. Starting from the identification of the dynamometrical values, compared to the speed of repetition of the techniques, it will be possible the planning in the educational area as well as in the training one. the objective was to verity the dynamometrical resp onse values of the inferior members, the speed of execution of the Koshi-wasa: Harai-gosh techinique and correlate dynamometrical response values to its execution speed. took part in this study 8 male and 4 female subjects, who are Judo apprentices in academies. To measure the force of the inferior members it was used a beck and Leg Dynamometer, and a test of speed, seeking to delect the nember of projections accomplished in one minute by both sides. The data was analyzed in agreement with descriptive statistics. In the female athletes the results indicated that there was a correlation between the strength applied by the inferior members and the number of projections executed by the dominant side (right side), and between the number of projections exedcuted on the right side and left side, c haracterizing the strong positive correlation and the moderated correlation respectively. In the male athletes the results indicated that there was not correlation between the force applied by the inferior members and the number of projections executed on the dominant side (right side and left side), characterizing the weak negative correlation, and there was correlation between the number of projections executed on the right side and left side, characterizing the weak positive correlation
