Autism: treatment aspects and family consequenses

Abstract

The presente study has objective to characterize the autism, as well as basic problems faced by the family and treatment subjects to discuss. the work was developed through bibliographical research, seminar organization on the theme and it visits to an institution in Maringá (Associação Maringaense de Autistas - AMA), that assists autism carriers. The autism is a illiness that affects the carrier of the syndrome and also its familly, and because of the interaction difficultu with the people and for not having cure. The autistic will need support and accompaniment during lifetime. Each autistic show a private characteristic, hindering the fixation of fixes and rigorous rules in the accompaniment of these patient ones. because of this, the knowledge and theories on the subject should be evaluated by the professionals and appropriate to each patients, before they be pplied. What is good for one it cannot be good for another. The educational work should be done for the development of child´s abilities and competence, favoribg its good to be emotional and personal balance in a harmonious way, and collaqborating for its introduction in a world of significant human relationships.
