Playing during childhood according to mothers od children fron 0 to 4 years of age

Abstract

Playing during childhood has aroused interest in researchers from different fields of study. Thus, the development of this survey in justified because playing doesn´t happen suddenly, but it begins with the link that exists between the mother and the baby, and it becomes assential for the psyco-affective development of the child. When playing games, children are able to substitute, mentally, any object by something real. Childhood is a period of appropriating images and representationships. Based on these theorical premisses, the present study had as aim to investigate the conception of playing for mother of children from 0 to 4 years of age. To carry out this research, at first, a bibliographic review has been done with ten mothers who playing during childhood. Secondly, of empirical nature, semi-directed interviews have been done with ten mothers who answered questions related for the data analysis. Concerning the results, it has been concluded that the mothers in general consider the games as being important for the clild development, and some mothers have answered that the clildren play games because they´ve got nothing else to do. However, most of them affimed that they don´t have time to play with their children and that they prefer the children to play at home toys. It was possible to reach the conclusion that mothers need to play with theyr children more aften, because this contributes to the child development.
