The Federal University of Vale do São Francisco Psychology Student’s Representations of The Digital Speech

Abstract

The objective of this study was to observe the representations of the digital speech and its characteristics in a virtual context. It was punctuated that it is peculiar to this spelling used for writing production and its subjectivity relation, even analyzing its influence in the academic production. It was done a reflection from the sent and received emails and also the applied questionnaires to the thirty psychology students from UNIVASF. The identified changes in writing were restricted to the cyber space and consist in a punctuation abuse, abolition of vowels, the substitution of some letters by others with the same phoneme, the use of icons to express feelings; right then the study infer that people can discern the space that allows the virtual writing, contemplating the speech flexibility in the used context.
