Abstract

Current study applies multiple linear regressions, stepwise method, in a set of data tabulated by the IBGE on the 849 municipalities of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and their respective total rate in agricultural produce with regard to each of the 33 permanent cultures and 31 temporary cultures in each municipality. Analysis evaluates the influence of crude added agricultural and livestock rates on the Gross Internal Product of the municipalities, specifically those related to agriculture. It also identifies how total rates of agricultural products of the municipalities of Minas Gerais may be guidelines of the crude added agricultural and livestock rates of the municipalities. Results revealed indexes on crude added agricultural and livestock rates in the formation of the GIP of the municipalities of Minas Gerais, although the influence of the service and industry sector seems to be greater. The analysis also showed that the production rates of corn, sugarcane, coffee and mangoes, as a whole, comprehend 93.7% of all references in the 849 municipalities in current research. Production rates of the other 13 agricultural produce identified as possible determinants of agricultural and livestock added rates comprised only 9.4%.
