COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION WITH THE TEACHER: STUDENTS´ PERCEPTION OF VALUE AND SATISFACTION IN DISTANCE AND PRESENCE SCHOOLING

Abstract
Current analysis investigates the perception of value and satisfaction of students with regard to communication and interaction with the teacher in Distance and Presence Educational modes in the discipline General Accounting within the Course of Administration of the State University of the Mid-Western Region of Paraná (UNICENTRO) in 2012. It should be underscored that although the communication process occurs differently, the two modalities may employ synchronic and a-synchronic means for the transmission of contents and materials with quality. Research comprised a 7-scale Lipert-type quantitative and experimental approach for a sample of 205 Distance Education participants and 349 Presence Education in October 2012. Results showed that, in spite of the great communication possibilities with Virtual Environment in Learning, the teacher only scantily uses these tools in the education process in PE, with serious liabilities in communication. On the other hand, interaction in DE is minimized due to the reduced number of live and online lessons. A greater use in synchronic communication tools at the pedagogical level in the discipline should be introduced.
