Abstract

The relevance of working capital for the success of micro and small firms in Brazil is analyzed. Discussion on the subject is important due to the fact that micro and small firms amount to 90% of Brazilian businesses. However, the percentage of firms that go bankrupt in Brazil is very high. CCL, CCP, CICLOS, NCG and Teller Administration Model are the many tools against bankruptcy. If micro and small firms invest in organized and professionalized management, a greater longevity and better results may be obtained. The bibliographical survey undertaken revealed that micro and small firms must have good financial health with positive CCL for a good working capital management.
