Abstract

The Secretary for Science, Technology and Strategic Products of the Ministry of Health (Rule 20, of 25/7/2012) authorized the use of viral protease inhibitors in the treatment of Hepatitis C as a new technology of the Brazilian Health System. Its implementation requires that specialized service complies with criteria established by the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Directions. The adhesion of specialized services in the treatment of Hepatitis C with viral protease inhibitors should be verified. Current quantitative analysis was undertaken within the area of the Epidemiological Vigilance Group XVII in Campinas SP Brazil, between 5/1/13 and 5/12/2013. Sixty-five credence petitions for specialized services were evaluated in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, of which 10 were concentrated within the region under analysis. Documents mainly concerned with the attendance flux patients with Hepatitis C were analyzed, coupled to the interlinked support network. Eight services in the region analyzed received credence. Although two services were not adopted, the number of adhesions of specialized services revealed the interest of health managers to attend to criteria established by the Clinical Protocol. The administration of patients for Hepatitis C treatment requires proper infrastructure since therapy success represents hope in the patients´ lives.
