Abstract

The hydroelectrolytes are between the most comuns occurances in medical practice, being able to present live risk or sequels for the patient. Among the most frequents electrolytes abnormalities, from the clinic view and abnormal laboratories values, are the alterations of sodium and potassium, that needs a carefull avaluation to determine its exact function in the general state of the patient. To reach quality in the diagnosis, the laboratorial exam is of basic importance, and the quality starts in the samples collection for analysis; therefore the objective of this assignmentis to compare samples of plasma heparine and serum to determination of the electrolytes, sodium and potassium, what can contribuite to the clinic efficiency of these doses. The determinations were carred through with selective ion electolytes and the results did not demonstrate signifcant estatistics diferences to the doses of these electorlytes, sodium and potassium, in plasma or serum. Based in this results could be concluded that the determination f sodium and potassium by selective ions electrolytes, in the equipment Architect CI 8200 (ABOTT), can be recomended in the use of serum and plasma.
