Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional profile of elderly users of hydrotherapy after nutritional guidance. It was evaluated 35 women aged less than or equal to 60 years old in the county of Maringá. The research was conducted in two stages: the antropometric evaluation and nutritional guidance, and after 40 days, anthropometrical revaluation. The anthropometric variables were: weight, height, triceps skin fold, arm muscle circumference, waist and hip. For nutritional assessment were calculated: the body mass index, the muscular area of arm and the relation waist / hip. The relation to the anthropometric characteristics, it was found that all indices had assessed changes between the beginning and the end of the study. The body mass index came at the beginning with 46.66%, with overweight, and at the end to 43.33%. It was concluded that nutritional intervention is needed for a long time and it has more adherence in the consistent to diet changes and improvement of nutritional status.
