The emergence of COVID-19 in 2019 had a profound impact on the healthcare system and redirected the efforts of epidemiological surveillance teams, compromising attention to other endemic diseases such as dengue. This cross-sectional study analyzed the impact of the pandemic on the notification of dengue cases in the municipality of Jaru, Rondônia, between 2018 and 2021, using data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). A significant increase in dengue notifications was observed in 2020, differing from the pattern recorded in other regions of the country, where underreporting led to a decrease in registered cases. In Jaru, the continuity of dengue control actions during the pandemic contributed to the maintenance of notifications, demonstrating the effective performance of endemic disease control agents even in a health crisis scenario. The data also indicated a higher incidence among women and young adults, reflecting national patterns. It is concluded that, despite the challenges imposed by COVID-19, the municipality maintained active dengue surveillance, highlighting the importance of integrated and continuous strategies to address multiple public health threats simultaneously.
