Current research deals with fine-tuning the interdisciplinary model of governance and international management (GUEDES, 2010) that acknowledges the interfaces between governance and management and multinational firms in South America. The influence of politics/government is represented by the role of the National Bank for Economic and Social development (BNDES) in South America in financing Brazilian multinational firms. Current paper presents the results of data and their analysis undertaken between November 2013 and June 2014 through documental survey. Results show that the three selected firms (Odebrecht, Andrade Gutierrez and OAS) received BNDES financing for projects in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Paraguay and Uruguay. They also demonstrate the closing of ties between governments and between government and firms in the region.Downloads
