presbycusis caracterization in an aged population
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the hearing of ages in order to characterize the dominant presbycusis to help in the selection and adaptation process of hearing aids. After evaluating 26 old males and females, from 65 to 75 years old, it was found that most of audiometric patterns was compatible with the presbycusis as sensory and conductive. Both can be improved by hearing aids devices.
