Evaluation of the testosterone serum lvel in rebbits fed with diets suplemented with differentes sources of vegetable oil.

Abstract

It was evaluated the testosterona serum levels in rabbits fed with feed containing different sources of vegetable oil. 40 new Zelaland White rabbits were used, with averange age of 7 months, housed individually and distributed in a completely randomized design, and with four treatments (feed without the addition of oil, and feeds with 3% of rape seed oil, 3% corn oil or 3% saybean oil), and 10 replicate. At the end of the experiment, a blood sample of each animal was collected to evaluate the testosterone serum level. The testosterone serum level was not affected by different feeds with vegetable oils,presenting the expected values for the species. Based on this study, it has been concluded that the inclusion of 3% of vegetable oil does not the levels testosterone serum in rabbits.
