Abstract

Occurrence of conflicts on land use in Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) is characterized. Study focalizes the centroid of an estuary lake system at 09º 50’ 0” S and 35º 57’ 30” W by the establishment of vectors in a database, graphically represented within a new theme with ArcGIS 10.2 scope area. PPA area was determined according to Brazilian environmental legislation. Conflicts in the specified region were determined by evaluating information on permanent protection area and land use in which the employment of urban areas and agriculture is largely in conflict with permanent preservation areas on river and lake margins. Current study demonstrates that the integration of remote sensoring and geographic information system is efficient to analyze direction, speed and spatial standard in changes of land use.
