ENTERPRISING MANAGEMENT COUPLED TO DYNAMIC ABILITIES: A STUDY ON AGROINDUSTRIES IN THE STATE OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL, BRAZIL

Abstract

Several researchers from different areas who are interested in strategy have focused on the enterprising management of administrators and its development. Dynamic abilities emerge as the internal capacity of the organization to project itself towards the external milieu for better performance. Current research co-relates the enterprising management with managing, marketological and ambidextrous dynamic capacity of agroindustries of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Methodology was foregrounded on quantitative research and on survey technique through the analysis of 14 agroindustries which represented the state´s different regions. Different statistical techniques were employed and results revealed that enterprising guidance has a positive stance with marketological and ambidextrous ability. Relationship with management ability was not confirmed. Managers´ enterprising actions are linked to attendance and anticipation of demands by clients, coupled to the introduction of new and better products/services in a constant and well-balanced manner. Results showed a specific characteristic of family agroindustries, namely, knowledge on clients and differentiation with value-aggregated products, strengthening the relationships between rural and urban conditions. The amplification of supplied products demonstrates their concern with commercial relationship so that agricultural practices may be acknowledged as businesses and may contribute towards the sustainability and life quality in rural areas.
