Abstract

Characterizing the sociodemographic profile and identifying the knowledge of the population with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Family Health Strategy. A cross-sectional and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, conducted with 58 users attended at the Family Health Strategy, from April to August 2023, in a municipality in the southeast of Mato Grosso. A structured questionnaire was used, containing sociodemographic data and the Brazilian version of the Diabetes Knowledge Scale Questionnaire. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel® software. There was a predominance of females, with a mean age of 59 years, self-declared race/ethnicity as brown, less than 9 years of education, with a partner, retired, monthly family income of up to 1 minimum wage, up to 3 people living on the income, owned their own home, and insufficient knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus. The identified sociodemographic profile describes a population with characteristics of sociodemographic vulnerability and insufficient knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus.
