Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the vinasse effect on the production of chamomile. The experiment followed a completely randomized design with four doses of vinasse (0; 40; 80 and 120 m3/ha). The cultivation was carried out in experimental plots with three repetitions per treatment. Chamomile seedlings were produced by seeds, seeded in trays containing substrate and transferred to the field when they reached 10 cm height. The plantation was spaced 0,3x0,3 m. Plants were harvested 120 (one hundred and twenty) days after transplantation, and the parameters were measured: height, diameter and number of inflorescences, fresh weight of shoots and essential oil productivity. There were no significant differences in the diameter of flowers and essential oil yield. Plant height, number of inflorescences and the production of fresh weight had a quadratic behavior. The vinasse can be used in chamomile fertigation, with favorable effects on biomass production and without affecting the efficiency of essential oil.
