Possui graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1974), mestrado em Odontologia (Cirurgia e Traumatologia Buco-Maxilo Facial) pela Universidade de Pernambuco (2000) e doutorado em Odontologia pela Universidade de Pernambuco (2008). Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade de Pernambuco. Tem experiência na área de Odontologia, com ênfase em cirurgia e traumatologia buco maxilo facial e implantes, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Cirurgia bucal, cirurgia da articulação temporo mandibular, trauma da face e cirurgia dos maxilares.
