Abstract

This study aims to summarize scientific evidence regarding the role of palliative care in primary health care based on recent publications. An integrative review of the literature from the past five years was conducted through searches in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), PubMed, and SciELO databases. The descriptors used were “Integrative Palliative Care,” “Palliative Care,” “Primary Health Care,” and “Home Care Services,” resulting in the selection of eight studies. Two categories of analysis were identified, focusing on training processes and health care in the context of palliative care. The findings indicate that the training of professionals in this field remains inadequate, with limited coverage of this topic in educational curricular.
