Abstract

Current paper evaluates patients´ satisfaction with regard to physiotherapy at a clinic of a private university clinic in São Luís MA Brazil. The descriptive and transversal study evaluated subjects treated at the physiotherapy clinic between September and November 2013. Mendonça & Guerra´s (2007) adapted questionnaire on patients´ satisfaction was applied to 72 patients, average age 43 (±16.8) years old, of whom 50% (36) were males and 50% (36) were females. Patients attended at the physiotherapy service were satisfied with the service, with respect and gentleness as the predominant ethical principles in student trainees. Main complaints comprised public transport and waiting time for attendance. Aspects related to the physiotherapeutic personnel-patient were the best forecast in patients´ satisfaction. Users were satisfied with the service given. Best items were students´ gentleness and respect. Further studies are required involving result from treatment instead of focusing on the structure (physical environment) and on the physiotherapeutic assistance process.
