Abstract

Access and constant instigation for alcohol intake in feasts and social environments involving university students encourage and broadens consumption among students. Current analysis investigates risk behavior related to the use of alcohol and other drugs among university students. The descriptive and transversal research analyzed a sample of 123 students of a private university. Students answered the test ASSIST-AUDIT and a Questionnaire on Risk Behavior, with a 95% confidence interval for all tests applied. Further, 89.4% of students admitted using alcoholic beverage sometime in their life; 74.5% got drunk and 22.7% associated alcohol intake to other drugs. A good section of users showed risk behavior associated with drug use, such as, drunkenness, driving after alcohol drinking, sexual intercourse without the use of condoms and involvement in situations of violence.
