The Employment of Digital Social Networks in Health: A Systematic Review

Abstract

A systematic review of the literature is provided to verify the exploration of digital social network in health by researchers. Data were retrieved from data bases SciElo Brazil, Virtual Library on Health and Capes, by the descriptors health promotion and social network; communication and social network; Web 2.0 and health; Information technology and social network; education and social network; digital social network and health. The categories for the analysis of data were: a) digital social network in research; b) study aims; c) aims in the use of social network by the population under analysis, d) methodology used. Data showed the quality of the contents published by digital social network and their adequacy to the health process. It should be underscored that a tool in the process of acquisition of health information is the previous verification of its effectiveness and their adequacy in the health process.
