Abstract

This study evaluated the influence of nutritional counseling on body composition of practitioners of bodybuilding. It was selected 56 subjects, divided randomly into two groups: 1. The control group (received no nutritional intervention) and 2. Experimental group (received nutritional counseling). The individuals participated voluntarily into this study, which had a duration of six weeks. The participants were submitted to anthropometric assessment (weight and height) and the examination of bioimpedancy before and after the intervention. The data were presented in frequency and percentage for categorical variables, and averages and standard deviation for continuous variables. Subsequently it was used the "t" test student in comparisons among groups and variables. The significance level was established at p<0.05. The results showed that the six weeks of nutritional counseling performed in this study did not have significantly influence in any variable analyzed, suggesting that the time for intervention was not enough to cause organic changes in the investigated subjects.
