Biology Course Undergraduates: An Investigation on Teachers’ Training

Abstract

Analysis of undergraduates at the Biology Course (Evening Group) of the Maringá University Center (CESUMAR), enrolled in 2005, in all series, was undertaken. Their concerns and investments in curriculum training and extracurricular qualifications with regard to teaching were evaluated. A descriptive research was undertaken and questionnaires were applied in all groups in November 2005. Data analyses showed that professional identity of undergraduates occurs throughout the whole course by means of experimentation in which academic conviviality, classroom activities, supervised training period and the students’ own initiatives supplement their professional training.
