Abstract

The literature on risk factors and on prophylactic attitudes of health students and professional on Hepatitis B is analyzed. Research was based on the Health Virtual Library at the databases Medline, Lilacs and SciELO, during June 2014, for the 2000 – 2013 period. The following inclusion criteria were employed: journals in English and Portuguese, with access to the entire article. Thirty-nine articles were included. Exposure of mucus to blood and body fluid was the main risk factor and prophylactic attitude as the active immunization were those most described in the literature. In fact the theme requires more attention since most studies report on the negligence of health students and professionals with regard to individual protection equipment, to vaccines and posterior post-vaccine test for the detection of immunity against the Hepatitis B virus.
