Abstract

A bibliographical review is presented to discuss objectively the main juridical instruments in Brazil which deal with the relationship between humans and non-human animals. Current analysis investigates experiences in international law and bioethics issues with regard to the effective protection of vulnerable beings. The most important factors in Brazilian law and its weak points are underscored to improve legislation on the current issues of non-human animals.
