Contemporary society is commonly called consumer society. From the Industrial Revolution with all technological progress that followed a globalization of products and services ensued. A high increase in the production occurred and industrialists tried to convince their clients to acquire products which they did not need. Publicity was the way to achieve such aims. In the wake of such commercial activity, society felt the need to defend the weakest and guarantee a just, solidary and igualitarian environment in which the Consumer Defense Code was born. Among its aims there is the duty to have an honest and true publicity and propaganda that would not violate the citizens´ rights. Current paper deals with the evolution of consumers´ rights which culminated in the publication of the Code and analyzes deeply the issue of subliminar publicity.Downloads
