Abstract

Current research evaluated the antifungus potential of ethanol extract of Solanum crinitum leaves against Fusarium oxysporum. 5-mm diameter discs with cultures of fungus isolates were placed in the middle of petri dishes with medium BDA, while four discs of filter paper with 1 mL of the vegetal extract, produced by maceration, were symmetrically placed on the periphery. Positive control consisted of discs without the vegetal extract, whereas negative control contained the chemical compound. Experiment was randomized with three replications (plates) for each treatment. Fungus growth was verified every 24 hours during 6 days, by measuring the colonies. Data underwent analysis of variance and means were compared by Tukey´s test at 5%. After 114 hours, the ethanol extract of the S. crinitum leaves had a fungicide potential on F. oxysporum when compared with other tested controls.
